Terms of use
Last updated 5 October 2026
These terms apply to the Lane Draft website and the Lane Draft service, operated by Steven Rudolph Heitbaum (ABN 19 457 791 763), Victoria, Australia ("Lane Draft", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them on behalf of yourself and the company you use it for.
1. The service
Lane Draft is software for designing traffic guidance schemes. It applies values from the Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (AGTTM 2026) and checks designs against them. We keep improving the service and may change its features.
2. Your professional responsibility
Lane Draft is a design aid. It does not replace the judgement of a suitably qualified and accredited traffic management designer, and it can't see the site. You are responsible for:
- checking every scheme against the site, the AGTTM, road authority requirements and your risk assessments before use;
- having schemes reviewed and signed off by appropriately accredited people;
- obtaining any permits and approvals. Approval is a matter for the road authority; we don't guarantee any scheme will be approved.
Suggestions from AI features may be wrong and must always be checked.
3. Accounts
Keep your sign-in details secure and don't share accounts. Company owners and admins control who in their company has access. Tell us straight away if you think an account has been misused.
4. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break its security, overload it, copy or resell it, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.
5. Trials, subscriptions and payment
- Free trials last 14 days and are not charged.
- Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance, at the prices on our pricing page. Prices exclude GST where applicable.
- You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period. Paid periods aren't refunded, except where the law requires.
- We'll give at least 30 days' notice of price changes for existing subscriptions.
6. Your data
Your schemes belong to you (or your company). You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the service. You can export your schemes at any time. How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
7. Our software and the AGTTM
Lane Draft's software, design and branding belong to us. The AGTTM is published by Austroads, and Lane Draft is not affiliated with or endorsed by Austroads, the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning or any road authority. Lane Draft refers to the AGTTM by table and section; you should hold your own copy of the guide.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Lane Draft available and back it up nightly, but we don't promise uninterrupted service. We'll try to give notice of planned maintenance.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't be excluded. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows:
- the service is provided "as is", and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or delays;
- our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or resupplying the service.
10. Ending the service
You can stop using Lane Draft at any time. We may end or suspend accounts that breach these terms, after notice where reasonable. If we stop offering Lane Draft, we'll give at least 60 days' notice so you can export your schemes.
11. General
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. We may update them; we'll tell account holders about significant changes, and continuing to use the service means you accept them.
